Halloween Memory Challenge
It's the perfect time of year to have some fun with your students. There are typically very few days off in October, and by the time Halloween rolls around, kids are pretty fired up, or tired. This game is just what you need. Don't worry though, because it's more than just a game. Students working on their memories has many benefits! Memory activities like this one help to improve attention, concentration, and focus. They nurture attention to detail, improve visual recognition and contribute to general cognitive development. It's a brain break that still works the brain, a win-win!
For these Memory Challenge activities, give students 45 seconds to a minute to stare at a picture. Each picture is followed by ten multiple choice questions about the details of the picture. Students can work alone or in pairs to answer them. As a whole group, you can keep score, or just let students see who was able to get all ten correct. You can use the multiple-choice options for younger learners, or the text answer version for even more of a challenge.
The slides provided are used with the Google slides add-on called, Pear Deck. Pear Deck is incredible! If you decide you would rather make this more challenging for older students and not provide multiple choice options, all you have to do is launch the Pear Deck add-on and change the question type from Multiple Choice to Text. This will prompt students to type their answers instead of being provided with choices.
All slides are completely editable, so you can add more questions or mix up multiple choice and text questions. You can remove questions and even change questions. You can give students credit for participation, so there's no stress involved for kids who aren't really good at this. Make it fun for everyone!
Find this and other Memory Challenge activities from my Teachers Pay Teachers store for just $3.00. Let me know what you think of them. More to come!
